The Steep Approach to Garbadale

What a surprise - our usual mixed reactions to this. General opinions were that we loved the characterisation, the elderly aunts and Alban in particular, but thought the stereotypical descriptions of America and their politics towards the end a little unnecessary, as the message was put across throughout the book, without Albans rant driving it home further. But the majority of us enjoyed it and would read more of his books. |
